Aera Trucks is proud to release the Aera S1 Slalom Style downhill trucks, with backwards K3/K4 compatibility! These trucks are based off early 2000s slalom geometries, but compatible with Aera Trucks most classic and revered freeride friendly K3/K4 hangers and baseplates, with the idea of reviving all those old baseplates you have in the closet from a decade ago. With 110mm hangers (axles add width), 10mm rake, a trailing rear axle, and a very easy to skate bushing seat that feels like home these bridge the gap between a race and freeride truck. In order to have compatibility with our older designs, these trucks do not feature spherical bearings or insert bushings. Hanger stability can be improved substantially with the use of Hardcore Bushings which use bonded plastic inserts to control hanger swash. The kingpin holes match older K3/K4 hangers and plasticized inserts are available from a variety of purveyors if you wish to use them. The trucks have been optimized to utilize a 50˚ front baseplate angle, and 25˚ rear baseplate angle.
