Just came across this post, felt like chiming in: been riding the rough riders pretty exclusively lately, I really, really did their speed on pretty much any surface except for super smooth crete & ramps. They definitely DON'T slide, but I've found them to be a great "one formula/all terrain" wheel. For as small as they are, they blow away similar (good) wheels like Rainskates & Abec 11 freerides for just cruising around the neighborhood. I'd ridden the atfs in the past & liked them, but the rrs feel faster/smoother. Maybe its the wider profile, or the core? Not sure, but my buddy's riding them too & agrees with my fondness 4 'em. I always liked the bombers too, but the rough riders feel way faster to me in parks that aren't that old, but the pour wasn't the best, so the concrete aged not so nice... I would be stoked on a wheel like George says he's working on, same rebound, but slide-friendly. That said, I def dig the rough riders, would recommend them for carving on gnarlier transitions as well as the asphalt streets...
lol, thanx 4 the welcome (back)! those pp asymetrics def do look cool - I noticed the gravel grinders came in 86, as well as 80 (rough riders duro). Thinking they might be worth a try, just by way of comparison...Still surprised the dtfs went away - I had an older, earlier set that didn't exactly set the world on fire, but then a friend got some right before they were discontinued that were REALLY nice, better than the stfs imho. You know how there's food testers, and wine testers, etc... I wanna be a wheel tester when I grow up, lol.
this video does em justice, they keep rolling & rolling - if you're used to ollieing more over your board, they take some adjusting, cause they'll "bounce" both on take off & landing- that said, you can definitely do tricks on em, just be used to going faster off the release... think sloppy slappies, instead of tech ones if that translates.

How tough are the RRs? Can you slappy, and do other curb tricks? I love the shape, but I am afraid of them peeling apart.
