    No prob dude, the Nils are totally rad. Dinosaur are coming to Toronto in September and I'm hoping I can catch their show.

    Speaking of thrash, dudes Slayer's coming here next week and I'm going to see them! Anthrax, Testament, Behemoth and Lamb of God are also on the bill.

    That song rules, too! Pretty in Pink had a ton of great songs on the soundtrack. I really like the Psychedelic Furs, too.

    I've been listening to the Gin Blossoms' only good album.



    This version of the song is rougher and standard 80s alternative like The Mats and REM; before they started sounding like Adult Contemporary Radio Rock for the 90s. Same thing goes for the Goo Goo Dolls. Everything they did 87-90 was good but then they came out with Superstar Car Wash and began to suck.

    That Gin Blossoms album is apparently pretty rare - the CD's are all pretty high and only sporadically available. And this version...I'd never heard it. I actually like this more than the popular version everyone knows.

    Yeah, dude. When I can find it, I'll get the vinyl. This record is totally legit, too. Very Replacements/REM and none of that later Hootie Counts The Crows 90s radio rock.

    Vinyl collecting gets nuts. I only buy when an opportunity presents itself for something I really gotta have and the price isn't too painful. I always regarded The Gin Blossoms as one of the better bands of this era and actual still have New Miserable Experience. I can't believe I never caught onto this album.

    Perfect for us skaters because we're always going out and hitting our heads; we're already nuts as it is! I've gotten pretty fuckin lucky on eBay auctions where I've won expensive records for cheap. I got an original Walk Among Us for only 150 bucks even though it's pushing like 600-700 or whatever and when I actually won the thing I couldn't fuckin believe it! There were like 7-8 other bidders who bid really low and I happened to luck out. I've spent crazy amounts of money on records, too, like when I spent 500 or whatever on the first Ramones record with the Beat Is On The Brat misprint or when I bought the original Milo Goes to College pressing for 250 or so. Dusted goes for 150-200 when it pops up; not the worst I've seen. It's such a good record that I'd love to add it to my collection.

    And yeah, they're not at all the worst band from that 92-94 era (the Counting Crows make them look like Husker Du!) but you just can't beat the 80s stuff. Them, Goo Goo Dolls and Lemonheads all sounded waaaayyyy better when they were trying to be Husker Du, REM and The Mats. The original Found Out About You is really fucking good, too! Very Paul Westerberg.

    What @McShredorDie was saying made me think of this song. I love the Pumpkins, I grew up with their music. I'd never heard this song ever before until last year and I immediately loved it. From 1988.. So interesting to hear their early style. I would have loved for them to do more in this vein.
