  • I really like the 1985-1992 era where Robert Smith prefected his pop songwriting. In Between Days, Letter to Elise, Pictures of You, Push, and so on!

    Not really into EBTG, though.
  • I could see how you could like that Macca!
  • EBTG rocks! I like the earlier folky stuff and the transition into the newer edm!
  • Dudes, I realize I sound like a broken record here (pun intended), but if you like the Cure, New Order and Devo, you'll likely dig my band...

Otherwise, I'm pretty confident we all love this song...

  • Hey Vato, do you gig around town at all?
  • Yeah, man!
We did a show in Marietta last month, but need to get more on the calendar soon.
I'll be sure to let you know - thanks for asking!

  • If that new wave looking dude is you, you look pretty rad! Very Robert Smith!
  • You'll have to get some of Macca's boxer style tips Tim! Nice sound!
  • Of course! I've got some tricks up my sleeve to impress the ladies!
  • You know what's a good band skaters should listen to? The Go Go's!

  • My lips are sealed!
  • Alex the seal!
I have seen Belinda Carlisle twice in 5 years and the last time we saw her she joked how a lot of Australians mistakenly mondegreened Alex the Seal for My Lips are Sealed! :D
  • It's actually Our lips are sealed, but yes, a common mistake
  • Well that makes more sense. Alex sounds like Our Lips!
  • I mondegreened "Alice Cecelia."
  • Skaters should listen to Alex The Seal, too!

    And The Bangles!

  • She was hot!
  • Damn shame I had missed DRI, but I've seen most of my favourite bands anyway. Favourite Cure album is 'Pornography' especially side B.

Swans did two different covers of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' Gira and a Jarboe version.

  • Skaters should listen to Killing Joke.
The ‪documentary on them‬ is also awesome!

  • Ray Barbee is a huge Bangles fan, he's wearing a Bangles shirt in Ban This.
Remember reading an interview with him back in the day saying the Bangles were his favourite band.
  • @WakeInFright @McShredorDie - thanks, guys! Yes, that's me, and whatever the look, I hope you enjoy the music.
    And, "mondegreened" - good one, @WakeInFright !
Yeah, the Go-Go's had some good tunes. My favorite is "Head Over Heels".
@Larrikin - Swans? That's out there, man! Killing Joke, and that early-mid Cure stuff is a little too dark for me too, but it's good (and important) stuff.
The Bangles? Did anyone get into the covers records Hoffs did with Matthew Sweet? Some of it was okay, I guess, but it was kinda goofy
If you need more girl-fronted bands, how about Dressy Bessy? From Denver, CO in 1999, sister band to the Apples in Stereo, their first two records are pretty great...
  • @Larrikin I remember seeing him wearing a Bangles shirt in Ban This and thinking it was pretty cool! Killing Joke is another great band, too.

@VatoRat No prob, dude! Sounds very 80's new wave which is always a good thing. Never heard of that Sussanna Hoffs/Matthew Sweet and I don't think I want to.

@WakeInFright They were all pretty hot if you ask me!

Primus Sucks! I'm so stoked that the classic lineup is back together for the first time since 1995. Primus Sucks!

  • The Chantoozies were (and still are) hot in my opinion, especially the lead singer in the Wanna Be Up video (forget her name).
