Vans Ultracush sweaty?

I have gotten on to wear Vans because they are so damn comfortable and they work great for riding my Onewheel as well.

I have found that the Ultracush shoes really make my feet sweat. In colder weather after wearing for a few hours my feet are freezing from being wet and they get so wet from sweat that my feet squeak inside the shoes.

I have never had a problem with any other shoes causing profuse sweating.

Does anybody have this issue? Is it the ultracush insert that is a thick foam rubber, possibly the all suede design that I have? I don't seem to have as much of a problem with suede pumas but the suede on the Vans seems a little thicker. Wondering if I switch to the canvas version if it would be better.

I have no sweat issue but, because of the larger movement of those insoles, my vans equipped with ultra cush, started all to squeak as well. I avoided this by applying baby-powder in the rear inside. Then I became, for another reason, problems with my achilles tendon and had to switch to orthopedic insoles. No squeak anymore.

Do you have all suede or canvas?

I have skated the Vans slip on pros for about 5 years. The last two pairs I bought were not as comfy or durable. They were saturated in sweat and the ultracush felt flat after a couple of months. Vans must have switched to a different Chinese workshop. I would love to try some different shoes, but it’s a $60 experiment.

May Vans with ultra-cush are all made of suede.

The last time I bought Vans I got non skate ones by mistake and blew them out in like 6 hours.

My current shoe of choice is DC Evan Smith hi, it has an insole that looks like cork that makes sweat no problem but puts little red dots on all of my socks. Also, they last forever imo.

@ghostbuster How do you know you're getting non skate shoes?

Idk, that was years ago and I didn't go back. Maybe they are all reinforced now, but after it happened someone explained to me that their casual shoes weren't reinforced as well, esp in the soles.

I must admit though Biebs, some of my favourite shoes for skating in the 80's were actually basketball shoes like Converse ERX400's!

Yeah I didn't think Chucks or Jordans were skate shoes but a lot of people have proven me wrong.

For a while in the early 90's I had a pair of really obnoxious looking Converse hi-top basketball shoes with these giant Zak Morris tongues sticking up in the front. I think the tongues had "CONS" written on them. I got made fun of for them but they were really comfortable for skating. If you Google something along these lines there are a lot of pics of these.

I gotta tell you dudes, I bought a pair of Fastbreaks a week ago along with some Air Jordan 1's. Haven't worn em yet as I'm storing em away for when my current couple of pairs of shoes meet their demise due to the intense shred and chafing of the grip tape.
