It reminds me of when I worked at a cannabis club and some of the dumb shit that went down. Actually I'm so wanting to be california dreamin' most times, but some of my heros are dying young...
Just lost an Ozzy mate surfer at 68 to excess bonging. Super active, fit and healthy otherwise then had a heart attack on the beach
yea i had a friend who died from weed but he has asthma on top of it so he fucked up and he was super young and i love how ppl are always oh u cant die from weed etc etc
I got back in it after 30 year break. Last deck I rode was a black mountain family portrait 89’. I’ve bought numerous sets of wheels in the past 6 months and the oval dragons are my go to. The speed on concrete was insane compared to easy streets. I’m riding a 8.25 flight deck mostly on concrete if that helps. My kids riding 80hd’s so I got a set for myself to try out. Went to park one day on 78 clouds cause my dogs were barkin’! They rode nice for about an hour before one split right off the core. Skate one just put up the 95a fireballs, earlier today they had one set left but says coming soon now. I’d like to try the 90 mini logos as well. I have the 97a Powell rippers but don’t ride em enough for feed back other than they suck on philly asphalt!- thanks 4 having me, haven’t communicated with like minded people since I moved to South Jersey mid 89!
I got g slides in 56mm. They are a hill bomb wheel or for cruising, super wide contact patch and big as core so quite fast and stable on bends. They work well at the local asphalt pump track.
A 78A Cloud split on me like that too, but it was after a car ran over my setup, so I figured I would try again. Their 86A formula seems tougher but still not really durable.
yea they have been a flop for many reasons slide wheels with only a little meat on them? big plastic cores are for longboarders! extra wide at only 56mm
still, they go really well at the pump track and corner really well at speed
@DW99 , good set up. Same case scenario here with me, ridding a powell oldschool reaper 10", Ace's 66, bones medium bushings, 56mm santa cruz mini vomits 97a, bearings....I was riding the bowl very slowish, used red reds, swap to bronson's, bones super six same result. I took a set of mini logos (one side metal shieldand the other side rubber shield), throw away the rubber shield, clean the really good using acetone and an old tooth brush, dried them out with pressurized air to get rid of any acetone left or any other debri, add some dry lube (the one you use to lube your door lock, powder), blow them again just to leave microscopic residues from the dry lube. Set them up with the metal shield facing out of the wheels and open side facing in. You will see your bearings spining and not stoping.
